Sutter Health Reports Stolen Computer With Data on 4.2M Patients
On Wednesday, Sutter Health announced that a desktop computer that contained the personal information of 4.2 million patients was stolen last month from a Sutter medical office in Sacramento, the Sacramento Business Journal reports. The computer was password-protected, but the data were not encrypted.

UK: Laptop stolen from Scottish advocate’s home results in undertaking
A Scottish advocate breached the Data Protection Act after failing to encrypt a laptop containing sensitive personal data which was later stolen, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) said today. The laptop was stolen from the home of Ruth Crawford QC in 2009 when she was away on holiday. Ms. Crawford noted that she had left plumbers with the keys and alarm code so that they could install a new boiler in her home while she was away.

YMCA warns members of personal information leak
A number of metro Atlanta YMCA members' personal information is at risk after a computer containing bank account information and names and addresses was stolen.
Channel 2's Amy Napier Viteri talked board members about how many people are affected by the possible breach.
One board member told Viteri the stolen computer had personal information from a portion of members from metro Atlanta, but she would not say how many people that is.
